Happy Birthday Dad!

I'm FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was my 1st of 12 days off in a row! This hasn't happened for a very long time! Unfortunately Gallie is sick with a cold this week, but better now than when we're on vacation. Today was pretty quiet... but doing nothing at home is a million times better than doing anything at work! She's been inside for 3 days straight so I did take her to the library to get some new books and a couple new movies... she gets more TV time than normal when she's sick :)

This weekend we have my dad's birthday dinner and lots of packing! We leave Sunday morning for sunny 85 degree California - our barely 50 weather will not make me homesick! Here is our itinerary that I've had mapped out for 6 months:

Sunday - Arrive
Monday - Disneyland (character breakfast!)
Tuesday - Disneyland
Wednesday - Drive to San Diego, In & Out Burger, Beach, Old Town
Thursday - Legoland
Friday - SeaWorld
Saturday - Home

We kind of crammed a lot into a week, so we may forgo Legoland if Gallie is too worn out. I'm not sure if I'll post anything while we're gone, but I will try to get a couple pictures up... if not, see you next week!

A whole weekend of Easter fun!

Hair Clips

Last night I made these little hair clips to put in Easter eggs for Callie's class party. I think they turned out really cute and she LOVED them! I got the idea from another blog that I look at. I can't take all the credit, though... Molly did sew around the edges for me with her sewing machine - it would have taken me way too long! But I did cut out all of the felt and sew the buttons on myself!

Over the weekend...

There was SUN! It was still chilly (50 degrees! 10 degrees below normal for this time of year!), but was nice to get outside. On Saturday we spent the first 1/2 of the day doing a little spring cleaning... even Callie helped and I think she had fun doing it :) Then we went downtown and walked around for awhile... saw some bunnies and chicks, checked out a new toy store (she's not allowed to ask for toys, but she can and did add things to her birthday/Christmas list!), did a couple errands, and took a walk down by the water.

On Sunday Caleb went to Seattle for a wedding and Gallie and I went to church then out to my mom's for the afternoon. Then we came home and played and ate dinner. She awoke at 6:30 a.m. both days this weekend, so it was early to bed for her tonight!!! Man, I'm tired! But had a nice weekend :) The next two weeks are going to be VERY busy!

Her doll's name is Rapunzel Taylor Swift. Don't even think about stealing that name for your kids!!!

Date Night

Caleb recently did a commercial for one of the nicest restaurants in town. He recieved an unlimited voucher for 2, so we went there last night. I won't list everything I had, but will say there were giant prawns the size of my hand, $49 lobster tails, and the best creme brulee I've ever had! I am still feeling a bit sick today and disgusted by the amount of food I ate, but it was very good. I would never spend that kind of money to eat out normally, but I sure would for free!!!

PS - He also recently aquired VIP Chippendales tickets which he gave Molly for her birthday :)

Lily is going to be a big sis! I wanted to officially congratulate Libby on her new baby due the end of October!

Over the weekend...

This weekend we went to Seatlle to Callie's friend Ella's Birthday party. Ella's parents are our friends too so we had a really fun time - we made a day of it and ended up staying for dinner. When we go down there we usually stay until bedtime and get Gallie in her PJ's and then she can sleep in the car... she's always so wore out from playing that she's out in less than 5 minutes!

Sunday was very, very mellow (and Callie was in a very silly mood, so it was a funny day too). It was nice.

Have a good weekend! I hope it warms up in Bellingham... it was 33 degrees this morning! And it's April!!! Here are a few other things (besides warm weather) I'm looking forward to... - Easter - Disneyland - SIFF - 32 hour work week starting May 25th!

I'm cavity free!!! I'm happy to report that Gallie did GREAT at the dentist today! She has perfect teeth and got a cool treat bag! Now I get to go in tomorrow :(

Happy 27th Birthday Meast!!!

A little story about how the name Meast came about...

One morning when Molly was living with us, she woke up and Caleb exclaimed, "Man, you look like a beast!" Then a few weeks later Cana, Caleb's sister, told her she had a manly voice. She was then called Man-Beast, which slowly morphed into Meast. Meast has stuck for about 6 years now. The little girls both call her bup. My grandma can never remember Meast, so she sometimes gets called Measley or Measle. Her childhood nickname is Deet, which my mom and dad still call her sometimes. People have also called her Molly McButter or Miss Molly. Man, what is it with my family and nicknames?!?

Over the weekend...

On Friday night I went to a friend's house for dinner and Caleb & Gallie stayed home and watched TANGLED!!! We watched an encore Saturday morning :)

Saturday was SO SO rainy. Gallie was sick with a cold the last half of the week so I didn't really want to take her out and about... so we had to come up with some indoor activities. We ended up having a pretty fun day.

The sun actually came out after dinner (a very over-cooked meatloaf!) so we went for a nice evening walk. It was nice to get out for a bit. Sunday Caleb had a shoot, but Gallie and I went to Molly's early birthday dinner - salad bar - it was SO good! Gallie ended up going to bed a little late tonight, but that's ok cause this week is SPRING BREAK! Yay! No school! I get to sleep in!
