Movie Night!

Last night we went to the opening of Caleb's movie, "Do you see colors when you close your eyes?" There was a good turnout and everyone seemed to really like it!

CAT

Tonight Gallie was in the bath and I was putting some laundry away (don't worry, I could see her!). When I came back in , she said "Look Mommy, CAT." I was shocked and had to stop to think if I had written it for her. She's been practicing her letters and does know how to spell cat, but has never put a word together by herself... with exception of CALLIE. I'm very proud of her!

She wrote all of HORSE by herself except for the "S"... which is a hard letter :) She is very interested in writing names and animals right now. She also has recently learned how to cut so spends a lot of time cutting things out of magazines.

I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so we went out! Notice the matching princess dresses! I swore I would never buy character clothing, but here she is wearing the dress and princess shoes. I also swore I would never go to Build-a-Bear... haha!

Pennies for Penny

This morning I took Gallie to the grocery store to cash in her penny jar. She loves the Disney store and decided she was going to spend it on a new stuffed animal. She ended up with $22!

It was such a nice day, so we spent it walking around town with Lily, Libby, and Molly. First stop was the little toy shop - very hard not to spend the money here! After that we let the girls go pottery painting. It was really fun... Gallie chose a little treasure box and it looked pretty when she was finished. We get to pick it up Thursday.
Painting worked up an appetite so we had grilled cheese sandwiches from a really delicious burger stand. Ok, ok... I did have a burger - it was huge and I ate the entire thing, plus fries! We walked around a little more and enjoyed the warm day. Then we stopped for a tiny cupcake treat!

Later in the afternoon Callie and I drove down to Seattle to pick up Caleb from the airport. But first we had to stop at the DISNEY STORE! It was quite overwhelming, but she decided on a tiny stuffed Lady (Lady and the Tramp), a tiny stuffed Donald Duck for Lily, and a tiny stuffed Penny (101 Dalmations). Her whole world lately has revolved around tiny stuffed animals :)

We are glad Caleb is home and he brought Gallie a Washington D.C. nightshirt and me a magnet, which are both becoming a tradition. Tomorrow we are relaxing and playing inside because it's suppose to rain all day. Movie day???

Soccer Mania!

This evening we went to watch an indoor soccer game and now Callie definitely wants to do that over ballet this year. I guess we will have to sign her up!

Having fun running around on the kids field.

Just a reminder ~

Caleb's movie is playing at The Pickford next week. Let me know if you would like to come and I can reserve a ticket for you. Go to http://www.pickfordcinema.org/page/Playing-PFC.aspx to watch the trailer and get more info. Thursday is pretty full, but there is still room for Wednesday's showing.

Caleb left for Washington D.C. today - My job is SO boring compared to his!!! I wonder if he will bring Gallie a new night shirt???

Over the weekend...

On Saturday morning we were up bright and early making cupcakes for the bake sale at Callie's school carnival this weekend. I frosted them, but she decorated every single one all by herself. They were very festive, to say the least!

A job well done deserves a reward! (A frosting covered knife dipped in sprinkles - at 9:00 in the morning!)

After some work was done, we spent the afternoon at her school. They had three giant bounce houses/mazes/slides so it was very hard to leave!

Saturday night Caleb and I went to see The Town with a friend. It was a really good movie - I would definitely recommend it.

Sunday Callie and I didn't even bother to get dressed - it was nice :)

She LOVED it!!!

Daddy Car

Yesterday Caleb picked up Gallie from preschool and she rode in his car for the first time EVER! I have never allowed it before because of how disgusting it is inside, but he cleaned it and it passed my approval. She was beyond excited about it and even said she wanted to spend the night in it! She was also excited about him seeing her classroom!

After the pick-up, they went out to lunch at pancake house. At dinner we always say our favorite thing we did that day and Callie's was "riding in daddy's car." :)

Tonight we are going on a family date night to dinner and then to see Alpha & Omega - a movie about talking wolves. Callie LOVES Snow Buddies and Fantastic Mr. Fox, so I think this is right up her alley!

Arts & Crafts Afternoon

Today after work I found out that Callie spent the entire afternoon at the park, so we decided to take it easy and make some dolls. They turned out really cute! We decided to save one for the dollhouse she is making one of her specials friends for their upcoming b-day :)

By the way, Gallie got a new pet octopus...

... but she ate him.

Date Night

Last night Caleb and I got all dressed up and went on a triple date to the Triple Door in Seattle - BEST FOOD EVER!!! We went there last year and the meal was even better this time. We went with Jordan & Jaclyn and Molly & Brandon to see our friend Ryan's Band, Ivan & Alyosha. I did bring my camera but we were having so much fun I forgot to take pictures :(

This morning we picked up Gallie and did some things around the house. This afternoon we went the library and to the feed store downtown to look at the animals. She was thrilled to get to hold one of the bunnies - it made her day!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Outfit No. 2

I promise not to show you every single outfit Callie wears to school, but she was very proud of this one! It was one she picked out herself at the store and "her favorite." She originally wanted to wear the sparkle shoes with it, but decided she wasn't quite ready to wear them outside and get them dirty. She swapped them for the tennis shoes and it still looked pretty cute!

On a sad note, I no longer have Wednesdays off :( It is a Memorial to Labor Day arangement, but I am hoping to convice them to let me permanenly cut back my hours :)

Labor Day

Summer is unofficially over... and Gallie was sick for the last weekend of it. I heard that once she starts school she will be sick every three weeks - well I guess they were right. She came down with a cold the day after her first day. I hope the trend doesn't continue!

We didn't end up doing too much. She was feeling better Sunday, and the weather was somewhat decent, so we went to my mom and dad's for a bbq. The girls played in the play house and took wagon rides - and roasted mallows! It was a nice relaxing day.

Today we decided to set up Gallie's really big girl bed. It was Molly's bed when she was younger. It is a little taller than we were anticipating so I will be going to Target tomorrow to puchase a rail - and we had to add a step stool. She loves it though!

Shopping Day

I know we are a little late, but we finally went school clothes shopping today. Gallie picked out two pairs of shoes all on her own. The fancy ones below and a pair of princess tennis shoes that light up when you walk (obvious choices for a 3 year old!). I let her pick out a few dresses and t-shirts, but I had to step in for more practical options (sweaters, etc.) She picked out a couple really pretty dresses though and can't wait to wear them to school!

And you can't go to the mall without riding Clifford the Big Red Dog!

Before shopping we had a picnic by the lake - It was so nice out! That is my favorite thing to do in the summer. I hope the weather stays like this for awhile. Have a good long weekend!

1st Day of School!

Today was Callie's 1st day of preschool! She was very excited as you can see - and we are really proud of her! She is wearing a new dress from Bup (Molly).
