Room Tour

I thought I'd do a little tour of Callie's room... mainly so she can remember what it looked like when she grows up.  We've rearranged it a number of times, especially through transitions from crib to toddler bed to big girl twin bed and finally to the royal princess bed :)  It's a small space but we try to keep enough room open for playing and running around.

The new princess bed and curtains are from IKEA.

When she was born we put the "CALLIE" letters on her wall - when she was 3 she asked swap the C for a G to change it to GALLIE.  We did, but she just recently asked to change it back :)  The bunny picture is by Debbie Carlos.

The toy box is from Land of Nod.  It's been a great toy box - when it's overflowing (like below!) we know it's time for her to choose some things to give away.  The suitcases are also from Land of Nod, the painting is from Urban Outfitters, and the little washer is from the Rose Petal Cottage collection.

Homemade jewelry stand (make by Gallie!) and vintage saucers hold rings, necklaces, and bracelets.  She loves her jewelry and takes placement of it very seriously :)

Her bedside table has all the necessities:  lamp for reading (we keep a rotation of books underneath), clock for knowing not to get out of bed until 7:00 am, and cup & saucer for a before bed snack.  The lamp is from Target and the table was like $10 at TJ Maxx.

This bed has great storage!  A bed skirt didn't really work so eventually we will get large storage baskets to make it look nicer.

This is her little play kitchen (from Pottery Barn).  I got it when they were fazing this design out and they didn't have the fridge.  I hope to get it someday on Ebay.  She has a couple sets of wooden play foods, but a lot of it is stuff I've gave her from our kitchen.  One thing she and every kid that comes over loves are the sprinkles.  I just take old sprinkle containers and fill them with colored beads then glue the lids on.  She loves shaking it onto "homemade" cookies and cakes :)  Her play dishes are from Green Toys and are very durable.

Vintage light switch cover (seen above).  Definitely one of the most treasured things in her room.

I think this shelf gives her room a very homey feel.

This closet may look cluttered, but it's actually pretty organized :)  Tutus and doll blankets go on the hanging shelves.

Toys (there are toys everywhere in our house!) are organized in buckets in the storage unit from IKEA.  This was a great purchase and easily tucks into the closet.  There is no wasted space - we use every inch of her closet!  Laundry goes in the polka dot bin.

Little boxes hold headbands, crowns, make-up, and dress up stuff.

The hanging shoe rack holds out of season shoes, hats, gloves, slippers, and scarves.  Dress up clothes hang to the right - I'd like to figure out somewhere to put them where Gallie can get them herself, but for now she just asks me.

The armour is from Sears (I think).  Also notice the "door-o-Taylor Swift"... the back side is also covered in posters and pages from magazines :)

On top of the armour is my piggy bank from when I was a baby and Cody's vintage Breyer horse that he gave Gallie.  The little broom set is from a local toy shop - Toy Garden - any kid that comes over wants to play with it... not sure why but they seem to love it.

Room Sweet Room.
