Field Trip

Today Gallie went on her first field trip to Fire Station #1!  One of the little boy's dad is a firefighter, so her class got an extra special tour!  It was also t-shirt day which she loves cause you get to wear whatever you want with it!  And speaking of uniforms, I have some new posts coming up soon.

Apple Farm

Today was a really nice day - sunny and warm.  Most weekends we go out and do some kind of food sampling.  It's a cheap outing and fun to try different local foods - kind of like a version of wine tasting when you have kids :)  Today we started out at Appel Farms for cheese - Gallie loves the "squeaky cheese," Caleb loves the gouda, and I love the feta!  We tasted a little of everything but came home with Greek olive feta and smoked gouda.

Next we stopped by Bellwood Acres to get some apples.  We tasted a few different varieties, along with sparkling cider, and apple spice donuts!  We came home with some of the bubbly, a spaghetti squash, and a bag of honeycrisps!

We spent the afternoon snapping some family photos and went to dinner with our friends Chris & Julie.  Hope tomorrow is just as nice!  We have baby shower #2 to attend!

A diamond in the rough...

This year Gallie requested a Princess Jasmine pumpkin (she's also being Jasmine for Halloween!)  I found the template just by google imaging "princess jasmine pumpkin stencil."  You can pretty much get one for any character this way.  This one was pretty simple - it took me about an hour.  I really love carving pumpkins.  It's relaxing :)  Gallie was very happy about how it turned out and wants me to do an Aladdin one to go with it!

Pumpkin Patch

Over the weekend...

We had pretty great weather this weekend for October!  On Saturday we took advantage of it and went to the pumpkin patch!  I'll post pictures later this week (I forgot my camera so need to get them from Libby!)  That afternoon Gallie also had her flu shot :(  It wasn't pretty, but she did better than expected so was surprised with a Jasmine polly pocket - Jasmine is her new favorite princess by the way :)

On Sunday we went to church then spent a lot of the afternoon outside - we played with sidewalk chalk, took a nature walk to the park, collected leaves to press, played hopscotch, and carved our pumpkin!!!  Photos about that will also be later this week.

The chiuaua's name is Brown Sugar.

Notice my new pixie cut??? Molly did it for me Friday night.  She did a very good job on the cut... I was just a little in shock at first.  I've had my hair short, but not this short.  Gallie said it looked like a boy haircut - haha - at least she's honest!  I'm getting more use to it though and will continue to go to Meast as my new stylist!  If anyone else wants her to do their hair she is on the floor everyday at Toni & Guy beauty school on Railroad.  And it's so cheap!

I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight... but Netflix just added a new season of 30 Rock so I can't guarantee it!

"He Does, She Does"

A graphic novel, based on a true story.

She bathes the kids.

He listens to music and looks at Facebook.

She sweeps the floor and sings funny songs to the baby to keep her from crying.

He watches TV on the couch.

She does the laundry and irons his shirts while making funny noises to entertain the baby.

He surfs the net and watches TV shows on Netflix.

She feeds the baby a healthy, nutritious, delicious meal.

He eats a delicious meal on the couch (cooked and served by her).

She reads the baby a story and puts her to bed.

He watches yet more TV!

She puts the other kids to bed and sings them a song goodnight.

He surfs yet more of the net while in the bathroom (she finds this very disgusting!).

She feeds the dog.

He plays with the dog while watching EVEN MORE TV!!!

She gets up at the crack of dawn to get the kids ready and drive them to school.

He sleeps.

The End.  Well, not really the end because it will all happen again tomorrow :)

Over the weekend...

On Saturday Gallie went to her friend Ben's birthday party at Jump Around Fun Zone - she had a blast running (jumping) around with all of her friends, eating pizza, and giving him a dinosaur present!

We really didn't do much else on Saturday - it was pretty dreary, but we did go for a quick walk when we saw a break in the rain.  And we watched The little Mermaid for movie night :)

On Sunday we went to my grandma's birthday dinner at my mom's for taco night!  She also made a fresh peach pie and a fresh apple pie - I ate a slice of peach, which was completely gluttonous considering how many tacos I ate.  I'm still paying for it - but it was worth it!

Another school week starts tomorrow - we have the skort, blouse, and tights laid out and I have turkey bacon in the fridge for breakfast :)
