Pinky Dinky Doo!

Thanks to Meast for the updoo!

Even though it was POURING down rain, we had the best trick-or-treating ever!  Gallie came home with 150 pieces of candy.  She got 2 pieces tonight and gets 2 pieces in her school lunch each day for a week - she spent the evening sorting and choosing, which was almost the funnest part :)  We did this last year and it works perfect for her - she is happy to donate the rest of the candy.  Her favorite thing actually was a ring that she got from one of the houses - she gave it to me as a present when we got home - It was really sweet of her :)

P.S. Total cost for this year's costume - $5.99!!!  Yes!

Living With Kids Home Tour

Today our house was toured on one of my favorite blogs, Design Mom!  I'm so excited about it!  Thanks to Gabrielle for including us in the Living With Kids series... I think I've read almost all of them (it's pretty addicting)!

Pumpkin Patch

Callie's class had their first field trip last week to the pumpkin patch! I volunteered as a teacher of the day and let around four 5 year olds - I was lucky to have a great, well behaved group. We went on a hay ride, corn maze, apple tour, ate lunch, and fed farm animals. It was pretty rainy and cold but the kids didn't mind at all!

San Diego

This past weekend, we went on a little getaway to San Diego.  We really love it there - I could definitely see myself living there... especially after getting off the plane coming home and getting smacked in the face with 30 mph rain wind!  We took Gallie to Legoland on Friday and spent Saturday in Old Town (favorite place in San Diego!) and Balboa Park.  The highlight for Caleb and I was eating at In & Out... twice!  We had a really great time together in the sun!

First school house in San Diego, Old Town.

Legoland!  Gallie had a blast - she especially loved the rollercoasters!

Balboa Park Lagoon - turtle watching.

Old Town family photo.

The COOLEST home store!  I wish I had $5000 to spend there!

She could have spent all day in this fountain :)

Caleb's favorite part of Legoland was all of the landmarks made of legos - it was honestly pretty amazing that people made these.

Gallie's highlight of the trip - they had every old fashion candy imaginable!

This is how excited she gets for the fast rides!

Carousel at the zoo.  They had tiny horses for tiny kids - it was really cute - I've never seen that before.

Hold on!  I do actually hold onto her because some rides are so fast I feel like she will fly out!

Saturday

Today we worked outside for hours! We mowed the grass, cleaned the garage, and cleared out our garden beds for the winter. Gallie had her riding lesson in the afternoon (which was a nice break) and then we had an early dinner at Cheese Meats Beers - our fave restaurant and by far the best food in Bellingham... at least in our opinion. It was really a fun and productive day!

School!

We had a great start with school... then it got rough... and now it's getting better.  She was so excited for the first day!  No crying, loved her teacher, made new friends.  Perfect.

The crying began the second week.  She cried at night and in the morning and when Caleb dropped her off.  One day she even grabbed onto him and wouldn't let go and then chased him to the door when he tried to leave :(    But even though, the teacher said the rest of her day goes well.  There is another girl, Sidney, that is pretty shy and the teacher kind of paired them together at recess - it turns out she lives in our neighborhood and Callie and her get along so well!

Last week she still cried in the mornings, but not the night before.  Her teacher said she is doing great during the day - outgoing in class, making lots of friends, and having fun at recess.  Sidney was even sick one day and Gallie informed me she played with Jessica, Olivia, and the two Mackenzie's!

Over the weekend she was really excited to go back to school.  The photo below is from this morning and Caleb said she didn't cry at all!  So I hope this will continue.  We are really proud of her!
